Well I did it...............................

Put money down on a new T-100 in Tang/White. My wife wasn't going to let me leave the dealer till I bought it. She was tired of going to the dealer to look.

Should have by end of next week..........don't know if I can wait that long....

Now for some questions........

Windshields.

Looks like from reading the fourm Givi is a good bet.
Am 6' 2", any suggestions on style/height. Would prefer a screen maybe like the 600? Any other brands to consider?

Bags.

Read some good comments about the tourmaster saddlebags. Is Newenough.com the best source pricewise?
Always happy with their service. Also what size bags M-L or XL?
Anyone have pic's of bike with these bags installed?

Was thinking of putting an engine guard on bike also. Is it difficult to mount?

Thanks for all the past info............

G'day,

Congrats!!!!!!! I like the Dart Flyscreen. It looks great and smooths out the wind nicely. Pics are on my link.

Have fun.

Congratulations on your new Bonneville!!! As far as windshields, my experience with windshields on the Bonnevilles are as follows:
National Cycle Plexifairing II-- Large and nice
National Cycle PlexifairingIII-- Larger with lowers. VERY warm.
Cafe Racer style from Bella Corse-- Small and sexy.

I guess with windshields it is a matter of what you are looking for. I used the National Cycle windshields for about 2 years with my factory Triumph nylon bags and mounts. As I mentioned the plexifairing III with the lowers blocks almost all air to the rider, so it is a very warm fairing to use in cooler months. That being said, I would not want it in the warmer months.

The Triumph bags are well made but expensive. The best thing you can do is get all of the accessories you want at the dealer and roll it into the loan, it doesn't hurt as much that way.

Newenough.com has great prices. I like the Tourmaster bags to and hope to get a set soon. I have a Parabellum Scout fairing and it does a good job of keeping the wind off you. I have the 10" windshield. Here's a link

Parabellum Scout

Scroll down on the left until you see the "Scout Fairing for Bonneville" link

RT, congrats on your purchase. I had a Givi 650 on my Thruxton for a few months. Great screen, but I decided to go back to more naked look. Hit my members album to see what the Givi looks like on a bike.

Best,
JW

Welcome and congrats!! Going to be a very LONG week when you are waiting.

I'm not overly impressed with the wind noise level that I get with the Summer Screen, and it isn't cheap. So, you might want to look at one of the others the guys like. The Summer screen looks just great, but above 55 there is a lot of noise.

Felicitations RT, great choice of bike.

We're a great group, lots of info and extraneous rubbish.
Sift and choose.
