It doesn't effect it that much but if your looking for power and not a fun ride well,,,,,,,, maybe you better take it for a test ride first. I feel like there's plenty of power for me and the wife. We both like all the comments people give us about the bike when we are out for a ride. I think that's the best part about owning one.

Plenty of power, but the stock pillion will have your passenger complaining in short order. I replaced mine with the Triumph Touring pillion.

No offense, but it may depend on the size of you and your passenger. I'm about 225 and the wife is a wee little thing, probably about 115. It took a little while to get used to 2-up riding but we're getting good at it and the Speedmaster likes it.

Now, the other day I took a lady friend out for a short ride and it was a lot more challenging for me and the bike because, well, she's not a wee little thing...

I just ordered the touring seat for the Speedmaster. Review to follow in the next few weeks...

Other than that, GET THE BIKE. You'll love it.

I assume that you are asking what the power is like on a America riding two up? Normal cruising just fine. It comes stock with about 60 horsepower. The stock 17 tooth front sprocket handles most riding situations. Some guys go up or down one or two teeth for their areas wether they be mountainous or flat. Southwestern Pennsylvania two up I have an 18 tooth. It's a great dependable cruising bike. Just remember that when a crotch rocket pulls up beside you and wants to play you're out of your league.

My wife and I have no problems with the mountains here in So. Cal and we ride a stock America. We total about 340 lbs. Most difficult part of riding double is when stopped.

My wife and I add about 340 lbs and the bike handles the weight well - it has enough power for us.
As mentioned in this thread, the stcok passenger seat is only good for short rides. I have not changed mine yet, but will look at doing so in the future.

I'm big, 255, and the ol' lady is small, bout 115-120, so that's almost 400 lbs. I ride a T100, it will go just fine with both of us on it, just as fast as she can stand anyway.
