Hello all, I currently have Superbars on my Bonnie and I like them. I am wanting to get another set of bars to try and I am seriously consedering the M-Bars. Anyone here ever tried both and can you tell me what the difference is in handling, feel, stance, etc., etc...
Thanks,
Steve

I sold my m-bars for superbars.
The m's were to low for me... hurt my wrists on long rides.

Steve,
Not to make this too complicated, but you should pick the bars by riding style. I had two bikes where I felt I had to change the bars: ZRX1100 and the Bonneville. Both had the 'sit up and beg posture' that prevents me form enjoying spirited riding.
On the ZRX I went with the equivalent of the Superbars. Big improvement over stock, good height all around, a bit wide at speed.
On the Bonny, I went to the M-Bars. For around town they are extreme. They can be positioned at roughly the same height as clip-ons. Turn-in takes a bit more pressure; particulary holding a constant radius turn. I only put then on this season, and if I find that I'm doing too much city riding, I may take them off. Yet for spirited riding they are a big improvement over my superbar equivalent ZRX.
An added issue is that they are much further forward (than stock, anyway). I used to sit pretty much on the passenger strap (sheepskin cover). Now I truely sit in the pilot seat. This effects handling and braking somewhat. (Since I upgraded brakes and shocks at the same time, I can only say it feels better.)
Now that I said all that, I love the way they look. I may put up with a little wrist discomfort here and there.
A funny sidelight to this: I sent the bike to the dealer for all of the above. The tech never met me. He looked over the total package: Early change of rear tire, Ikon shocks, reinforced brake lines, and performance pads and assumed I was 'hard-core'. Boy did he set those bars low! Next day he saw me (54 years old, overweight, etc) and sort of apologized without mentioning my geezerhood. I told him I would try the bars this way for a while.

I have been using the NewBonneville low-cafe bars for about a year. They are low, forward, and also wide. The wider spread gives more leverage and also lets me hang out better on the turns.

I have the low cafe bars as well, they're a nice mix of comfort, coolness, and good handling. I love how wide they are. They are pretty far forward, but I can still ride one-handed comfortably on longer rides. I like em!

I have the Super Bars and love them. Four inches more forward, two inches lower and a bit wider than stock. Any further forward than that and I'll get on my Daytona!

I got the Superbars on my Bonnie and I love them. I've got about 5,000 miles w/ the Superbars and I like the look and riding position. In reality, any cafe bars would require a set of rearsets and at my age, I enjoy riding but do not enjoy lower-back pain. The Superbars provide a slightly bent forward riding position that allow me to stay on the bike all day and are a vast improvement over the stock bars.
Kind of similar to the early 60's British standard Bonnevilles. Flater bars for UK bikes, goofy pull-back bars for US spec bikes (must have been the "Easy Rider" US influence of the time).
My vote: Suberbars rule!

I have M bars on my T1oo and just did over a week away with them and the only thing that hurt was my arse. I am 6 foot tall and run standard pegs. Hope this helps.

I went with the "M" Bars first and, like others, found them to be a bit low and too far forward. However, they worked great at speed (65 mph+) and they transfer an appropriate amount of rider weight to the front wheel, creating better handling. Just the same, I went to the Superbars as I have better visability and more comfort when in the "less-intense" mode. As someone stated earlier...it really depends on how you ride...

I tried the Superbars and found them too wide and didn't like the wrist position. M bars are on the way. The M bars look like the have the wrists bend toward you like the stock ones do. the Superbars they were straight out in front of me and I found that awkward. It must be me though as most rave about the Superbars.
