Al.....the 16 on a speedy isn't as low as you'd think because the speedy's gearbox ratios are different i believe. As to kballowe putting an 18 on his speedy, i wouldn't do it if you're running at 55-65 95% of the time. I find it just fine even at 85. These engines are made to run at high RPM, and at 55-65 in 5th you're about as low an RPM as you'd wanna be while still having some gunt when you twist it. these engines have a strage feel to them that makes them seem like they're working harder than they are at a given RPM. It's strange, but i can be putting along in 5th at 50 and feel like it's working pretty good, then get on the freewat and run it up to 75 and after a few minutes it actually seems like it's working no more or even less than it was at 50 in the same gear ! it's bizzare. But i'd say at the speeds your ride at most of the time i'd leave it at 16 because you'll be sacrificing accelleration just to get a lower RPM at cruising speeds that you say you only ride at 5% of the time. And if for some reason you DO decide to up the sprocket, i'd suggest going up only one tooth instead of 2. 2 is for those who spend the majority of thier time at high spped on freeways. Just my opinion...
