I bought a chrome cam cover for the Orange Dreamcycle but it did not come with instructions. Can someone give me the torque values (both upper and lower) for the mounting bolts? Also, has anyone added the auxillary power socket? Does it require fuel tank removal? What about AI removal?Basically, I just want to remove the fuel tank one time and do all the mods at once.

Thanks,

DesertRunner

Torque the bolts to 10NM, 7.3lb or 88.55inch. Whichever you have. There is no upper or lower value. The AI removal kit should have come with instruction. It's been a long time since I pulled mine off but it was pretty easy.

Don't know about the aux power, but the instructions for AI removal begin with removing the gas tank.

Bonneville Torque Spec & Conversion

Here's a link for the handy conversion chart. It is available in the Downloads>Technical section but is listed only as "Bonneville". Someone should probably rename the file. I printed and laminated a copy for the garage. Keeps the greasy mitts off the shop manual, to some extent!

AI Removal instructions can be accessed at this link:

One of these times I'll figure out how to make links I attach "active". For now, just cut from here and paste into your browser address bar.

Actually, once you've done it a couple of times, removing the tank is very easy. Always remember to plan for a place to put the tank BEFORE you have it in your hands. :-D Don't ask me how I know this, please. A small cardboard box that is deep enough for the petcock to clear is my first choice--I sit the tank across the box with the petcock just touching one side. It also helps to plan ahead and not have much gas in the tank. You should be able to remove and replace the vent hose by feel without looking at it after a couple of removal/replaces. :-D
