i wanted to know what method the cam, crank and gear covers are blackened? ceramic coating, powder coating, paint?

this is my first post on the board. i am glad to have found it. i have wanted a triumph since as long as i can remember (26 years old now.) they look like a motorcycle should. i am looking to purchase a t100 in a year or so. i will black out the covers and want to match the factory look as much as possible. it is worth it to me to get the tach and extra cc's for the money.

I believe it's paint. Can anybody else help out with this one. I love the T100. Get it!

If you get the T100, I bet you could find someone to trade the chrome covers straight across for black ones. The engine on the T100 is not black, though, its that grey color.

I always thought a Black Bonnie (Bam-a-lam) would look really sharp with the chrome cases, the contrast would be awesome. Ridge, can you help me out with your photo shop abilities?

Have (buy a new set) the stock alloy cases black power coated. This will give you the desired look. Steve
Good luck on the new bike bnjns. Window shopping and drooling are allowed on the forum. :-D

The T100 comes with silver cam cover not chrome.bnjnz I bet there are a few of us who may have a black cam cover not being used(like me).I think Capt Don has the chrome engine covers on a Black.Perhaps he could post a snapshot.
bnjnz be warned the more you hang out here, the more the desire builds.Scrape up some cash, lad! :-D

i am really trying to plan out what i am going to do to the bike before i buy. i want the black covers with a full black exhaust. i guess i can try to trade the covers for a black set when the time comes. if not i liked the idea of ceramic coating.

I would guess Powder Coating because when I had my stock T-100 valve/cam cover powder coated black, the plater said he had a he!! of a time getting the old powder coating off. The jugs are probably powder coated also, is my guess.
