Well I did it sold The Harley bought 06 T100 only 250 miles so far but haven't looked back. My problem after riding Harley's for the last # of years I can't remember to turn the signal off. What is the best self cancel unit ? Badlands has one that needs to be wired in and has a load equalizer for L.E.D. Kriss has one that needs to be wired in that doesn't have the eq. New Bonn. has one that is plug and play but doesn't have the eq either. Whats best ? Oh buy the way on the Bonnie A/I removed BUB pipes jetted and uni filter before I picked it up. Last English bike I bought new was a 63 BSA Lightning Rocket. I figured you folks with your wealth of knowledge would have the answer.
Thanks

I've got the one brent carries. Theres one problem with those that drives me nuts, but to be fair i'm not sure ANY brand can get around this problem.
When you forget to turn them off they go off by themselves as they are supposed to, but the problem is that next time you go to turn them on you have to first turn the button off. The other problem thats worse even is that sometimes even when the button HAS been turned to the off position, the signals don't go on when you try. I believe this happens if you turn them on for too short a time before turning them off. (maybe one blink) But i'm really not sure exactly if thats why. I tested it when i first got it and found what makes it do this but i can't recall exactly. But suffice it to say it's a pain. Is it worth the pain? Yes...it may be a hassle but it's better than hitting a car that just turned left in front of you !
And as i said b4, i'm not sure anyone can build one that eliviates both problems because the button is mechanical, so theres no way to electronically set it back. The other problem i'm not sure tho.

I've never owned a bike with self cancelling signals so it's not an issue. Like hitting the brakes, or shifting gears it is just second nature. Do I forget on occasion? Sure thing, but not often enough to warrant an aftermarket solution that works, sort of. I even use hand signals to change lanes, or turn. That's a true self cancelling system. :-D

I had considered the self-canceller at first. After some more riding, cancelling it manually became more "automatic" when I'm reaching for the clutch to upshift after going through the turn.

I have the Kisan unit from Newbonneville. It works fine for me. It cannot reset the Triumph manual signal switch; however, it cancels the turn signal 100% of the time. Someone said they can remember to turn off the signal most of the time--it only takes one time to kill you! I live in a state where only 5% or less of the drivers (including local and state policemen) use the turn signal. One can be sure that if they signal most drivers will know they mean to turn.
I simply hit the reset button prior to signalling--it works 100% of the time, also. I believe the problem Daz mentioned has to do with the Triumph turn signal switch--you turn it on by moving the switch, but always turn it off using the reset button, otherwise sometimes it won't turn on for you--this was the case for me PRIOR to buying the signal cancelling unit.

Thats how i do it.....i hit the button. But still sometimes it doesn't start the next time i switch it on and i have to hit the button a second time and turn it on again. I honestly think this thing is flawed big time, but as i said it's worth the trouble to stay alive. Someone else cited the same problem a while back.
