What bags and supports are you using on your Bonnie?

I was lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to buy some used Hepco Becker hard bags..... pretty sturdy stuff. I hang the quick-detach Hepco's from the Hepco mounting hardware in the winter, and attach my 'Leatherworks' pony express style leather bags when I want the '69 Bonneville look. You can see the mounting hardware in the picture below with the luggage rack attached sans any bags:

I have yet to see the bike with it's leather "pony express" bags, together with that gaye looking leather top pack...... But it'll be the way to travel while retaining that retro 'look'. As an added bonus, that top pack fits a six pack of talls perfectly!

That fairing is available through Omar's (Street Tracker) site. It's his "Bikini fairing" going for about $200.00 (unless he's raised the price again). I bought a kit from newbonneville.com that lowers the turn signals, trimmed the corners of the fairing, lined the rough interior with some truck-bed liner, painted the gel coat finish Black, and had some automotive clear shot over it. The fairing and tinted windshield must be over a 1/4" thick!

Bryan, yeah.......

I had the fish tails welded to the joiner pipe, Dyno'ed 'em, then took the "fatratt" fish tails off Saturday afternoon. I can speculate that Thruxton needles and 150's woulda done the trick
- but -
they were obnoxiously LOUD & RASPY. And prior to putting it on the Dyno (that broke half way through the run), I listened with great interest to the story going 'round about loud pipes getting busted in Merced. Combine THAT with your having heard on Corbin's 'Ride On' that they're starting to bust folk in L.A., AND that it's no longer a "fix-it" ticket......
- well.... -
I can't afford to take the chance of getting popped for ANYTHING! In short, I got scared.

Soooo.... prior to climbing outa bed this morning, I'm already giving thought to what I can do to quiet the 'fatratts' down.
