drove all over L.A. today looking for a simple fuel filter after removing the stock one. Not one bike shop or car parts place has anything that would work ! They're all either too big to fit or 1/4 fuel line. Can you say "monopoly"? Must be triumph's way of making sure you buy thier 1 cent filter for probably 10 bucks or more. I have a real nice glass 5/16 one i paid $10 for but it's too big w/o doing some real tap dancing. But i guess i'll have to. 3 friggin hours of driving to find a $3 part with no success......Arrrrg !

Daz, I put a nice glass and chrome filter on my bike with no problems. It is a 'mr gasket' brand filter it came with both 1/4 and 5/16 barbs. I did use a bit longer fuel line and cable tied the hose to the frame brace under the tank. It fits pretty good and looks nice. You should be able to get one at most any auto parts store.

daz, hopefully you were riding the whole time, so you at least got to enjoy some of the day.

Daz, You didn't specify what brand of glass filter you have. For 5/16 hoses Drag Specialties has a small and large filter available. I bought the small one and it worked out pretty good i thought. It also has a replaceable element.

I went out shortly after i posted this and installed the glass filter. Luckily it happened to work out perfectly. I couldn't tell that it would before because i had to cut a 3" section out of the hose to tell, and i didn't want to do that for fear it wouldn't work out. And the 5/16 hose they have in the stores around here is real thick and doesn't round sharp corners easily. But i just said fruck it and cut it and it fit nicely. now i'm glad i DIDN'T find the little disposable one i was looking for. I like it....looks cool. :-D

Oh, and i don't know what brand it is. I got it at a custom shop that deals with harleys months ago. And yes dardoonk, i did indeed ride today. Had to get out there and make a few HD'ers jealous. :-D
