Put down a deposit last week on a 2006 Bonneville. I've been wanting one for about two years and finally just did it. I'll pay up next week, and have it a few days after that. Can't wait.

I've been lurking here for a while now, and have learned that this is the place for good info, so I'll ask a few questions. I haven't been able to find exactly what I'm looking for through a search, so here goes:

I'm thinking about having the AI removed before they deliver it. If the only difference in doing this is that the pipes blue less, I'd like to do it. Is there more to it? I'd like to keep things as stock as possible, and if removing the AI makes any other significant changes, I'm not sure I'd want to do it. I realize that the pipes will blue regardless, but if this keeps it to around the first bend as opposed to the second bend, that's what I'm looking for.

Any ballparks as to what the dealer would charge? No way in hell I would consider doing it myself. I'm mechanicaly challenged.

Thanks for having me here and I hope to learn a lot from you guys.

Remove the AI before the engine is started.
With the AI connected, it takes only about one minute of running, before the headers turn blue.

I collected my bonneville two days ago, & in the 10 miles from the dealer to my house the LH exhaust pipe has gone blue on the first bend. I removed the AI & have been out today for 60 miles, but nothing has changed, LH slightly blue RH chrome - I thought they would be even colours?

Waiting must be soooo hard!!!!!
Enjoy your bike,
Ride it like you stole it! (after you've scrubbed the tyres in and run it in, of course)

Putting the AI back on will only make them turn blue even more so I'd leave it off and live with the LH blued pipe the way it is.

Might want to check the carb synchronization.

:-D Maybe not the fastest ride, but by far the most enjoyable. Love my T100 and I think so will you.
