I'll be setting out on a casual ride this upcoming Saturday the 18th. It amounts to nothing more than 150, 200, or 250 miles..... depending on where you start from.

Meeting places may include:
1) the ever popular Peete's Coffee for you folks closer to the coast.
2) the Shell station on Vasco Rd. & 580 @ 9:00 - 9:15
3) the Chevron station on Waterloo & 99 @ 9:45 - 10:00
4) Cruising past Buena Vista Inn at 10:45 (or stopping @ 11:00 for a JD & water and the bathroom)
5) Mel's Diner (and/or the Shell gas station) in Jackson for lunch @ 11:30 - 12:00
6) Pardee Dam overlook just 12 miles after lunch

This ride has a little bit of everything, from two lane high speed sweepers, to a 10" freeway jaunt, looking tough-n-fine cruising through Lockford and Clements, an enjoyable twist & turn around Comanche Lake, and a fun/beautiful roller coaster ride outa Jackson to Pardee & Valley Springs, then coming out on 99, across the Stockton "cross-town", to I-5.

Can I generate any interest in joining me for a frolic through the Foothills?

I won't know for a couple of days wether I can make it or not but I am going to try. I just have to get a couple of crews to wrk some evening overtime instead of a Saturday. If it doesn't work I will catch you on the next one.

sounds like a great ride, makes me wish I was back in CA again. Rather than snow bound in WI.

I would like to suggest an interesting ride add on to your trip. Instead of going into Jackson on 49 (to Mels) turn north on 49 and go up the hill to the intersection of of 49 and Ridge road. Take Ridge road (hell of a ride, lots of tight twistees) over to 88 and into Pioneer for some 'giant 88 burgers'. The return to Jackson on 88 has some great sweeping curves.

Just a thought.
