This is a great site. I got many ideas from reading the posts here. Hope that some of you can help me. I have a 02 Bonneville T 100 and I want to mount a GPS and install heated grips. Under the tank there are two plugs that I want to use, one switched and one unswitched power. I can not find any male plugs to fit any of those outlets.I would appreciate if any of you could help me with some advice about this.

Are these the same connector found on the Speedmaster? I'd appreciate any tips on this too...

Yep, Aux Cable power harness tie-ins they are. I use the low one that comes out under the left carb on my T100 with my Battery Tender - SAE Connector it's called. No wrenching involved, plug-n-play.

I also put on the Triumph Aux Power Socket A9938015 Kit $30, (America/Speedy $32) attached to the inlet under my T100 Tank. This kit installs a Euro Powerlet Socket (Not USA cigar lighter compatible - requires another generic adapter) IE: Triumph, BMW type. There already was a hole in the right Carb Support Bracket on my T for the kit - just like they planned for it.

When you get other options like Heated Clothes, grips etc., they usually come with the SAE connector, or Powerlet, to plug in as conversion kits.

SAE Cable Converter Option Kits: Click Here

Triumph Aux Powerlet Socket Option: Pic: Click Here.
For the Bonnie: Triumph Auxiliary Power Socket A9938015
For the America/Speedy: Triumph Auxiliary Power Socket A9938026

Powerlet Adapters, US Car Cigar Converter, etc.: Click Here

I made a custom Battery Jumper multi configuration cable from the unused leftover Battery Tender Adapters, and purchased parts from PowerLet Products. But you gotta dig thru their sight to find what you need.

Other fellows tuned me on to this stuff too.

Walt, the connector I found on the Speedmaster is not the Battery Tender type.

It's square and has two wires, purple and black. The connector appears to be female and has two perpendicular (not side-by-side) terminals.

It is found coming from the main wiring harness just under tank and above the carb.

Silver,
Humm. Dano. I have a Bonnie, and I've seen the same SAE Connector hanging out on America, when I was at the Dealer couple of weeks ago.

The SAE Connector End, looks like this: Click Here

The '04 Service Manual schematic shows Battery Power Tap is Purple (Hot) and Black (ground.)

I've also seen this type square connector you speak of on my T, and I had to "hunt out" the SAE connectors on my harnes. But, you got me, on Speedy. Maybe a KNOWLEDGEABLE Speedy Owner can answer.

G'day,

I just put heated grips on my T100. The connector under the tank which has a purple and a black wire is supposed to be the accessory cable according to the Service Manual. It comes from the accessory fuse (#3). However, it does NOT turn off with the key. I ended up wiring the grips to the headlight and this works well.

Norse, you mentioned a switched plug under the tank. Where is this plug of which you speak and what colour wires are attached to it? I am planning a few more add-ons so it would be extermely useful to find.

This is a pretty poor picture of the connector on the Speedmaster. Any information on how to get a mate for this would be appreciated.

Thanks for all your replies.
To iandel: The unswitched plug on my Bonneville T 100 is located on the left side of the frame under the tank, coming out of the wiring harness. The switched plug is on the right side under the tank. It is switched thru the ignition switch.
The plugs are not SAE type, or BMW,and they are not alike.
For my heated grips, I made my own plug from wires and cilicone sealant, but would like to have a "real" one.
I can not tell what the wire colours are, the bike is in storage now and waiting for the spring.

FYI, I spoke to my friendly local Triumph service manager last night and he told me this Speedmaster plug has something to do with California emissions or something?
Can anyone verify this?
