Gentlemen -

The Thrux is a great bike, but if you're lookin for straight line speed ya may be dissapointed with the difference between the two. If you're lookin for cornering speed, then write the check, twist the grip, tilt it in an yell "Yee Haw"!

I've not ridden an America or SpeedMaster, but the 865 just isn't that much faster, in a straight line, than the 790 Bonnie.. a bit, but not mind boggling.

Havin said all that, I still love mine, yet I'm dreamin of a Daytona 675!

Never Satisfied, I guess.

Hey Joe, it comes down to whether you're a cruiser guy or a cafe-racer guy. Anything that can be done to a Thrux to make it faster can be done to an America. They are both posers, for sure, but one can turn corners better!

I'm keeping my America (we've been through so much together) and buying a Moto Guzzi as a stablemate. Can't see getting rid of a bike that is tailored the way I like it and is so reliable. Besides, you'll never get the money out of it that you've got into it. At least that's what I tell the Mrs.
