The search continues but will join you all soon.
I've been dreaming of owning a Triumph for quite a while now. Been lurking out here for months, reading all threads I think will relate to me and my skill level for the mods I want to do for when I finally get one of my own. I fell in love with the tuxedo Bonnie the first time I ever saw one and cannot for the life of me figure out why Triumph stopped that paint scheme, which has left me with an almost impossible task of trying to find a used one with low-miles within my budget. Thought I found one in Texas but it was sold before I had my funding ironed out. Now the money is there, I can find no 2011 (last year of the Tux Bonnie) within driving distance or with lower mileage. I found my second choice, a low-mile, black Thrux, on-line and have contacted the seller but haven't worked out the logistics as of yet. Wish me luck and if you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks
Volp

I think the black/white (tuxedo) tank paint scheme first came out on the T100 in '07. So, if you're right that the last year was '11, you have 5 years of bikes to choose from. Carb bikes in '07 & '08 and EFI beginning in '09. The slimmer tank would only have been on '07's, with the slightly more bulbous tank on '08's and forward. My '08 carries an '07 tuxedo tank, my bike came with a black/red tank which I didn't care for.
Good luck with your search, there should be plenty of them out there.
Tom

Thanks Snook but the longer I wait the harder it is to wait longer. Tom, I don't have a super solid reason for wanting an EFI over a carb version other than the cold start thing and "it's newer". (Weird but that's just me) I've also read there's a slight HP increase in the EFI too. I think I'll still be tickled to death with the Thruxton as I could get one now and wouldn't have much trouble selling it if I came across a Tux Bonnie later on. Thanks for the feedback fellas.

Also remember many '08's (not all of them) came with the redesigned rear hub which had straight pull spokes, might want to make sure any used Bonnie you find has the newer rear hub, which is a stronger design.

I've read many threads out but never once have I heard of the hub/spoke issue on 08's. Thanks for the info.
To make my decision even harder, I just got quoted for a "still in the crate" 2012 Bonnie Black from a dealer with full 2 year warranty, out the door price of $8200. Minus the state tax of course. The Black is my third choice after the Tux and black Thux. And here I thought this would be fun...

If you have the patience, the bike of your dreams will always show up eventually.
If you can no longer stand to play the waiting game, you're only a paint job away from "creating" the bike you desire.

Just to clarify, the quote I got from the dealer was for a t100 black. Very confused now.

I was thinking exactly the same thing JNL. I could have a very rare 2012 Tuxedo Bonnie. Anyone have a rough estimate money-wise for a tank paint job?

Especially in the older used bikes, the Bonnie Blacks are a bit less money. For what you save on buying a black you can get the tank painted. That is, if you're ok without getting the shiny bits. For me, that would actually be a draw. I have a T100 but IMO the black engine covers are rather sexy.
