Since I live in Minnesota, will I be able to ride to Colorado and hit the mountains, or will my MN jetting make the bike run too poorly? I'm used to my fuel injected Victory.

I live in Sacramento(pretty much sea level).I've been up to 8000 feet without a problem.I'm sure I was running a little rich, but nothing to worry about.

I've been up to 9,000ft for a long weekend a few times, and my bike does want to be a bit cantankerous to start in the morning at that kind of altitude. Once it gets warmed up though, the bike runs okay even if it is a bit rich. But unless you're going to be staying up that high for an extended period, it doesn't pay to re-jet.

Could be a problem. Not sure of my altitude here in MN., but where we stay in Colorado (for about 5-6 days) the altitude is around 10,500 or so. Bummer.

I bought my Bonnie used from Pennsylvania and had it shipped here to Colorado. So far, no problems, but I haven't taken it much higher than 6000 ft. yet. I have had my little old Yamaha over 9000 ft. without a problem and a buddy of mine has ridden his 1947 Harley over Trail Ridge Road, so I would hope a new Triumph could keep up.

Traveled all over Colorado this past summer. Up and down and all around riding two up the entire time.
Bought and carried an extral set of plugs just in case of fouling from being over-rich. Never used them.

Bike ran great.....never missed a lick the entire trip.

I don't think you have to worry about re-jetting. Was told by the folks at Erico Motorsports in Denver that the Bonneville motors don't have a problem with the altitude changes and they appear to have been correct.

Unless you are moving there I don'td think you have to worry.

All of you lowlanders talk of the lean factory setup. Then at high altitude it should be just right. My stock Bonnie runs great at 7000 ft. Haven't had it any higher though.

Thanks everyone. Good to know in case we do another Colorado trip this year! I love cruising the mountains on a bike!
