Over the years, Triumph has put several different types of seats on the bikes sold from the dealers. Each model/year seems to have slight differences in the seats. My question is, are all of them the same dimensions in terms of length and width (don't care so much about height)? Common sense would tell me yes, they're the same... but I'm looking at buying a seat cowl that was designed for the earlier style seats, and I have a newer seat I will be putting it on. Any thoughts?

If the seat cowl you're referring to is for a Thruxton/Contemporary seat, those seats have not changed their dimensions; the cowl will fit all, including the Thruxton gel seat.

Easy, thanks for the reply. The cowl I'll be getting is a custom made one by another company. It was designed to fit the seats of the bonnies and thruxtons from 2004 on.

I assume the width of the seats are all the same... I just wanted to be sure first.
