Yes. Bob's BMW is one of the nicest motorcycle dealers around across any brand. They have a cool BMW bike museum in the back of the showroom. I've gotten great deals on gear too when they've had special events. Good people on staff.
I'm pretty sure the guy with the Guzzi was a regular customer. Seemed the type who had several bikes, and could afford more. The Belstaff jacket was my first hint.

Guzzi or Triumph on the highway, I'll take the Guzzi anyday, no trouble making that decision.

The highway is avoided by me as much as possible.

Fair enough, I'm very lucky, as my dealer(Triumph Detroit) is less then two miles from my house and they will get anything I ask for.

Maybe he was talking about the pogo stick suspension that come on the Bonneville. And I DO agree with the statement that most BMW's are ugly as hell but the quality is unmatched.

Maybe compared to the Bonneville, But not the Rocket, or even my D12.

Thruxtonbill,
I bought my bike from Triumph Detroit too, although I've never set foot there. Did it all over the phone. Their service manager agreed to deliver my bike on a sunday (his day off) as he had a hunting cabin somewhere in West Branch and was going there anyway for the weekend. WB is about half way between Detroit and Sault Ste. Marie.
He drove my bike North and I headed South and we both met in the middle. It worked out great. They seem like good people there. I look forward to visiting the place one of these days.

My dealer, interestingly enough, sells Triumph, BMW, and KTM. I am still getting used to the looks of the various Beemers when I go in there for parts or service. I do appreciate the engineering that goes in to them and owner's events and such. I ride a Bonneville. It is, for me, what a motorcycle should be.

That is very, very cool. And they are great people over there. I've been there a couple times (about a 1/2 hour from me), for a new tire, oil/filter and of course, oggling the bikes. I have not bought a bike from them (yet), and I waited a bit too long on a beautiful leftover Sprint GT they had on the floor.

Never owned a BMW but owned about everything else including a half dozen Triumphs.
Disagree the BMWs are ugly. There just a function follows form kind of a thing.
I've ridden them but don't bond with the boxer motor. Like the new K bikes but not enough to sway me from my Triumphs.
