I've been thinking of doing my wheels on my Legend, not sure how it will work on wires

I used it on the aftermarket billet grille on my FJ. I had painted it black previously, and it had several dozen nicks (silver showing through) within a week, with no off-roading. The Plasti-Dip has been on for about 6 months now, and after several 4-wheeling sessions, it looks like the day I sprayed it. Stuff is amazing.

Your side pannel looks neat, did you take the bonneville sticker off ?
and how many lays ?
No I didn't. I just wanted to see how it would look. I have taken it off and will try to do it again, this time with a peace of electrical tape over the Bonneville sticker so it will show up after I spray it again. I will have to remove the tape before the Plasti Dip sets up.

Plasti-Dip is great! The Jeep guys use it to cover everything from wheels to hinges. Even saw one guy cover his new JK with it. Very forgiving stuff and very easy to work with. As with any paint prep is everything, but if you screw up with this you can take it off.

I'd love to see any pics of cast wheels with plasti dip applied before under taking it myself. The shinny wheels and mettle flake paint look kind of feminine.
