Doesn't the Scrambler gel seat have white lettering for the "Triumph" on the back?

Go to the Hinckley Twins Pictures Forum. I just posted some pics of my bike on the "Scrambler Pics" thread. The last pics posted of a matte black Scrambler. It has a gel seat. Does it look like that?

It does but for the red tag on the grab strap.

Maybe they don't all have it?

I'll be able to look at the seat pan tomorrow.

Is the gel seat the best option for comfort?

I had burton bike bits seat on my bonnie and it was ok but not a big upgrade in comfort over stock. Some but not enough for longer rides imo.

If all else fails, set the seat out in the sun for a half hour, if the seat becomes unbelievably hot to touch, you have a gel seat, if not, then not.
WRT comfortable Triumph seats - the Scrambler solo w/ luggage rack; the King/Queen, while ugly as ever, is good and a Burton seat is ($$$).
Just remember, YRMV...
Good luck!

the gel seat is absolutely not the best option for comfort. there is a triumph engineer somewhere that will burn in hell for designing that seat. i would love to meet this person so i can follow him and make sure his ass is impaled with a railroad spike before he sits down on any surface. i can't believe i paid money for the gel seat at one point.

OK just read this thread and happen to have my seat off so I decided to check.

Numbers on the bottom of the seat are (from back to front)

2300603 (Below embossed Triumph Logo)

4020217 (Below embossed SDM Selvazzano (PF) Italy

Sticker forward of that that reads "SDM 2300603 25~04~5"

Sticker next to that with care instructions in 6 languages.

Stock Seat? Gel Seat? After Market?

Apparently it's a black contemporary seat.

Gypsy - don't get your problem. I found the stock seat fine, the gel seat good and the solo seat w/ rack great - seriously comfy. Maybe your problem is that you have a Bonnie and not Scrambler seat.
