Anyone have experience with this cowl for the stock Bonneville seat?

I have a 2012 standard Bonnie black.

I actually don't mind the stock seat. My lady friend often rides pillion.

And yes, I'm the kind of rider who wants the cafe-look without the cafe rider positioning-one of those weirdos!

It would make a lot of people happy.
A cowl with the standard seat.
But do you need to drill holes in the seat for the screws?

If the stock Bonne seat doesn't have the mounting provisions then yes. Triumph does sell the mounting hardware that the Thruxton uses (Thruxtons come with cowls) separately. It's a bit pricey. I have a set I can sell you.... I ended up not needing them during my custom seat build at Corbin...

While the cowl does come with mounting brackets, it appears from the photo that you will need to drill holes in the seat. This won't be a lot of work though, yes? Maybe it would be more cost efficient to buy a new seat with a cowl?

Just heard back from them:

"One way to attach the seat would be to make some kind of metal bracket in a U shape that you could fit one side of the U under your upholstered seat and attach the other side to the fiberglass part with epoxy. You might also look at temporary attachment using strips of marine grade velcro (hook and loop)."
