While I know Triumph makes sportbikes, adventure bikes, and cruisers, when I think 'Triumph' I instantly think 'Bonneville'.

But where does the classics line fit in the total sales for Triumph?

No reason, just wondering....

I read somewhere that they sell 5 classics to one of their other models. How true that is I don't know.

Perhaps if you count all the classics against the other individual models they're the best sellers, but as I remember the Speed Triple is and has been the best seller for quite some time.

Though Triumph doesn't release the numbers, I have head that the "Classic line" has sold over 125,000 units (all models) since their introduction in 2001 and have accounted for 20% of ALL Hinckley Triumph ever produced... easily the most successful single "line" for the new Triumphs

I'm not willing to bet my life on that... but it does seem very plausible... They are obviously selling enough of them to justify the assembly facility in Thailand.

I read that 20% figure for the classics somewhere too.

Yeah its about the 20% mark I would think. When I worked for the dealership they sold alot of classics but they also sold a hell of alot of the other line. Speed Triples and Street Triples move a ton. Rarely did they have a left over Daytona or Sprint.

Did some googling last night but couldn't find anything. I did find that in September of last year, the Explorer 800 was Triumph's top selling model (in the UK, mind you). I've read elsewhere that the Street Triple was their top seller for a while. Turning the clock back further, I think I remember reading in the "Triumph" magazine that the classic line accounted for most of their sales, following the Speed Triple (this would have been way back around 2008 or 9 though).
