Installed most of my carbs powerpack upgrade yesterday. Have remove all of the SAIS plumbing, but I can't tell what this is and whether it n eeds to come off as well. Seems like it should, but the hose coming out of the back goes to a hard plastic T-pipe between the carbs that can't be removed. If I remove it, do I need to cap off that T-pipe? If you click on the picture, you can see it better than this thumbnail. Thanks!

Is it part of the California EVAP system?. See thread below concerning its removal. It's referred to as a "canisterectomy". Post 1 talks about that "T" piece and the following post is linked to a .pdf file with instructions from GaryD:
