Richm, completely agree with your post. The Bonnie for me is pure joy at all speeds.

you are the one that said the cheapest way is to buy another bike .who said anything about a 865 lol.

Once you get in the 140Kph+ range, the buffeting gets pretty untolerable. When cruising tend to the find the 100/120 pretty sustainable.

As for the discussion on mods. Bike is a hobby and tinkering is my hobby so performance upgrades are a natural for me, others into paint etc.

Those who question why people spend a fortune on upgrades, wont understand the answer anyway.

The other thing these bikes are not much fun much over the ton the wind beats you up bad.
I have seen the other side of 130 on the speedo At my age its not that fun when your face shield touches your nose lol.I am not going to find out how fast my bike will run now but it will do the ton in 3rd gear.Thats good enough for me.
Well in that case if your afraid of 130 plus then I would definetly have a go against your tractor

Getting up to ton

I have done the ton plus a little change on my 09 Scrambler. Both before & after changing from stock exhaust & the Arrow 2 into 1 plus remap. Somewhat easier/ quicker after the exhaust switch.

I hit 120 indicated with just arrows and I lost my balls. Haven't tried it again with the ark, DNA pods and TTP tune.

Did 113 actual, but I honestly didn't like it. 100 feels comfortable for me. She got to 113 quite easily and quickly, but those last 13 got a little squirrelly for me. 85 for me on these curvy mountain roads is very enjoyable and exciting, so 105 is about my consistent upper limit.

I'm all about excitement and adrenalin, but not when it's produced by pressing the limits of the capabilities of the bike. That's why I'm doing suspension mods now. 140 on a sports bike, for me, is exciting, but doesn't feel like I'm cheating death. It's comfortable, stable, and confidence-inspiring. The fun factor drops for me on my Bonnie when I press it.
