Thanks for all the info, y'all!

Mine was definitely bad; at the higher revs (when the output should be best) it was only putting out 11 volts.

My Bonneville is an 09' and I wonder if I should change out mine BEFORE it goes bad. I would really hate being left on the side of the road 400 or so miles from home. Is this a common problem ?

Thinking the same thing. Also if I should replace the coil and coil pick up as preventative maintenance.
