I was holed up in Upper Westside of Manhattan during the storm so was pretty much untouched. Rode my Bonnie to my office in midtown on Wednesday morning during the huge gridlock, found I was down on reserve so turned around & headed back to a gas station - just as well as they were low on gas and lines were already stretching several blocks. After returning from office that night I parked my bike and took mass transit to work rest of the week. Motorcycle-riding for emergencies only until the gas situation improves.
I'm hearing the gas situation should start clearing up as early as today. Harbor's open so the supply should be getting back to normal. As long as the stations have power, which most do at this point.

Thank you for your selfless help!
I'm out here in sunny Arizona, but you have reminded me to send money to the Red Cross and to be thankful for my situation.

Good on 'ya!

Wow- way to go, Eric! I hear up north got it MUCH worse than we did here in Maryland..

This was a selfless act on your part (putting yourself and your bike in harms way to benefit others) and I am sure this was very appreciated by those you helped!!

Way to go Eric! That is just so cool.
I believe motorcycle dispatch will be a valuable service here in Los Angeles when Roscoe (the BIG ONE) hits. I hope you are getting enough fuel there.

eric, you were like the dispatch rider during armageddon - lots of people talk about stuff like this, you actually lived it, very cool & very selfless of you. Perhaps you can add to your write-up pull some pics and have them sent to one of the motorcycle magazines or web sites? NOT to flaunt your experience or anything, but to put up your unique experience for posterity, or at the very least, for a wider audience to read and appreciate - just my two-cents ...
