I first met her by chance march 10 2007, I was out of town and stumbled into a bike shop, they were having some sort "Daytona days" open house. the place was packed free food, games, giveaways etc. people having fun. suddenly a flash in the corner of my eye and there she was dark and mysterious my heart was pounding as I made my way to her. there were other admirers but I knew this was special and wanted her right there right then on the floor. it was all I could do to control myself, I am thinking "be cool" you can't commit to this! it will never work, I am not from around here, I live to faraway, we are from different worlds. So pulled away from this momentary infatuation thinking "if it were only meant to be".
I never did forget her I would see her in my minds eye. I tried many others and they were great .I passed on some T100 demo deals and a fast and sexy red thruxton but I kept thinking about her, dark and brooding. So I would order one like her from a local dealer. weeks went by sill no bonnie "o where can my baby be"? the dealer then told me that he had received all the new bikes he was going to get that year.I was bummed I was floored. and then as if by fate, I came across my goodie bag from my trip in march
and in it was a salesman's name and number. So I called she was there waiting for me. all prepped and ready. May 1 2007 she was mine and has made me a happy man

Bonneville T100
I also own a Bonneville T140es. Really like the classic looks of the bike.
Why not a Bonneville SE? Because I like spoke wheels more than cast wheels.
I really like the looks of the Thruxton, but I also want a comfortable posture on long drives (besides, I need a 2nd seat for my gf). I'm not a big fan of the looks of a Scrambler tbh.
Why Triumph? Because I grew up with it. My dad owns several classic Triumphs.
The choice wasn't that hard for me

2008 Thruxton...and honestly its because I was looking for a Honda GB500 TT for about four years before I bought it...The GBs that were in really nice shape were pretty expensive...
So I figured if Im gonna spend the cash Ill get a new bike with a warranty...
In hindsight Im glad I got the Thruxton...for many reasons...
I still stop and stare at those Hondas everytime I see one though...

Sold my 2000 Legend TT in April of this year and found myself w/o a Triumph in my garage fro the first time since 1980! After committing about that fact for 2-3 weeks, my beloved wife said "Let's go find you a new Triumph!" The next weekend I went into a shop in GA and looked around. Only the Bonneville line fit the empty spot in my garage (I have a BMW for light touring and a WeeStrom for dual-sporting). Of the Bonneville's, the SE was the only one with a 2-tone paint job similar to the bikes of old, and all the accessories on it as standard that I wanted (tach, no "kink" in the exhausts, mag wheels, EFI, 17" wheels). As "add-ons", I knew I could add the center stand, rear rack, tankbag, and a windscreen. A week later, my bike was ready to pick up. I rode it home (150 miles) and found it was all that it was advertised. I've now completed my wish list of add-ons, and I'm happy again.
Probably someday I'll make a trade of the one (or both) of the non-Triumphs in my garage. Maybe someday I'll have a garage full of modern Triumphs. I can definitely see a place for a Tiger 800 (not the XC) and a new Trophy!

I really liked the Triumphs, I have a 28 inch inseam and knees that don't work real well. This in 06 equaled the Speedmaster for low seat height and forward controls. The best decision I have ever made.

2008 Bonneville Black. 2008 because I wanted carbs, Bonnie because I'm short, Black because I don't have to clean it.

I did some research and knew a Bonneville SE would be the perfect bike. When I went to the local dealership to look for one, there sat a 2011 Bonneville T100 with only 804 miles on it. It called to me loudly. I had plans to be a tough negotiator. I took it for a test ride, came in smiling from ear to ear and said "How much do you want for it?".
