So much for my long awaited SE-R with 6 speed tranny, dual front disks, switchable ABS, Arrows exhaust, standard sized wheels, etc.

There seems to be something a little strange going on with the 2013 model line up. The Gold really "bombed" in the UK with Triumph getting an outside company (8 Ball) to repaint a large number of them (64) and putting them out to dealers as specials. Many dealers are stuck with the Gold models and will give a hefty discount or are getting paint jobs done themselves. I was offered a brand new one with a "Jubilee" Paint job for £5,600 earlier today. The Gold is listed as part of the 2013 line up, strange ?. As mentioned on the "Tech Talk" section the latest models have had a redesign of the cylinders and solid oil feed lines but I saw today a "New" T100 with original cylinders and solid oil feeds. Am I missing something hear or is the paranoia really starting to get a grip. So you go into the dealers for spares for your 2013 model. Is that the gold one sir or the one with the solid lines and updated cylinder block or has it only got the solid oil feed line etc. etc.
Geoff.

Let's be honest, that was never going to happen anyway.

A couple weekends ago at my dealer I was told the SE will be dropped for 2013. The remolded, i.e. narrowed at the front, seat seems to be on all the standard bonnies now.

IMHO there wasn't enough differentiation between the Base Bonnie and SE. Dropping the SE, which I assume stands for "special edition" makes limited offerings like the Steve McQueen model a true special edition. Also, making some of the shiny engine stuff optional gives dealers and suppliers another earning channel for sales and installation.

To me, the main pluses to SE were the two-tone paint schemes & the tach. The chrome tank badge & brushed engine covers are nice, but I probably wouldn't have noticed them if I wasn't told about them. So now I guess you have a choice of mag-wheels & no tach (base bonnie) or tach & spoked wheels (t100). Glad I got my SE model this year already!

Accessories can bring the base up to the level of the SE. This approach keeps thing a litte simpler for Triumph by eliminating a model from their line up and offer more flexibility to the buyer.
Regards, Paul

Just picked up my new 2013 Bonneville today and the dealer informed me that the SE model has been dropped. I didn't know this and was surprised to see the chrome tank badge fitted to the base when I called in to collect it. Very happy.
Sold my America to get this one.Wow what a difference.I'm in love again!

My dealer also informed me the SE is definitely gone. I assume that the standard will be a cross between the old base and SE?
Or will you just be able to get options that make it more like an SE?
My dealer has two or three SEs in stock and he indicated that bargains can be had.
