I use Meguiar's for all my bike fetishes, but Deano or anybody who might know, how does "Gold Class Carnauba Plus" compare to what I've always thought was the proverbial gold standard of Meguiar's "make your bike shine products" - the " Meguiar's Tech Wax"? Same? Better?

The advice not to wax new paint jobs probably came when they were being painted in cellulose paints which emit fumes whilst they fully harden over a period of weeks.

Modern bikes that have 2k paint can be polished and waxed straight away. Our bikes are painted and baked at the factory anyway so they are good to go.

"Megs" meaning Meguiar's? I'm always open to persuasion... better solutions such as...?

I don't have a drive, or a hose, or a garage. I also don't have tons of time.

I use this stuff:
Amazon Amazon

Works really well. Easy on, easy off. Spray it carefully and use a microfiber cloth to control the spray direction.

Thanks.
Poorboys super swirl remover 2.5 is excellent at removal fine scratches.

Clay bars are the ****. Its basically a lump of soft white clay and the kits come with a spray thats basically speed detailer. You wet the paint with the spray and rub the clay bar over it. Any surface contaminates that stuck to the paint will transfer to the clay. Its a bit of a shocker when you wash the bike and you think its spotless to then see the clay turn black with all crap stuck to the paint.

Autoglym and Megs stuff is good as far as the mass market goes but apart from AG Super Resin I havent been that impressed. I dont like to use polish unless I really have to but when I do its usually Poorboys SSR2.5 or chemical guys all in one.

Wax wise- there's detailers out there who would quite happily kill each other such is the rivalry with different brands. However anything carnuba based will do. My choice for decently priced ones are Poorboys Natty paste, Optimum spray wax, Clearkote Moose carnuba wax (can also be used on rubber and trim), Chemical Guys Butter Wet wax.

If you are a real playboy then you could splash out on Celeste Dettaglio Paste.
