I just found out today that Moto Guzzi has a modern classic bike also. Not that I want one just saw it and felt like people do when they see our T-100's.

Very cool looking bike too, imo. If you want to know more get yourself a copy of the October 2012 issue of Cycle World magazine. There's an article in there comparing the Guzzi to the Thruxton.

I work at TACOM in Warren MI, and a close coworked has the V7 Racer. Gorgeous bike, but true, underpowered. I got to ride it for a few miles while he rode my Street Triple. The Racer (his at least) shifted terribly from light to light. I couldn't wait to get off. Funny, he couldn't wait to get off of mine. To each his own I guess.

I saw one almost 2 years ago at a Cycle World show in Cleveland and thought seriously about buying one until I discovered there's very little in the way of aftermarket or even factory accessories. I've sat on them on three or four occasions and find they seem smaller each time. I looked at a used one before ordering my Thruxton and it just seemed too small. Also, as another gentleman pointed out, every road test I've read all mentioned there not being a lot of power on tap. But maybe all the magazines are used to 120 road rockets.

My wife considered one but the 32 in seat height scared her away.

My buddy went nuts for the V7 when we saw it at the internation motorcycle show last time it came through. I told him if he bought one, I'd get a triumph and we could dice it up at a track day. I bought my Bonneville, but he's yet to get the Guzzi. Great looking bike but the power is disappointing.
