thruxton dream build

So after a very long time searching finally found a thruxton for sale at a decent price. Picked up a 2010 Thruxton with less than 6,000 miles on it Started to collect all the parts needed for the daytona front end swap. Already put on fender eliminator kit to clean up the back end. I'll post some pics tomorrow for a before shot.

Anyone selling a pair of daytona forks for a good price?? Found a couple pairs of street triple forks but not too many daytona forks or for a fair price. Picked up a triple tree and clip ons already.

I have started all the prep work for the daytona swap. Relocated the regulator and ignition to the frame. Cut off the steering stops to mock up where the new steering stops will be drilled and tapped to the bottom yoke. I'll start to post pics this weekend as I make progress.

I take it then that you sourced the forks themselves? If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for them? I'm contemplating going a similar route.

Thanks and good luck! I can't wait to see some photos.

Got started on the thruxtona build today. Got the whole front end off but ran into a little problem... The top and bottom outer races for the steering bearings are near impossible to remove! I ended up using a dremmel and cutting out the top race. Still need to remove the bottom race tomorrow. I even started out with trying to use this tool.

It didn't work because there is no lip on the races at all for it to grab so I could punch out the races. Really nothing to show as of right now. Tomorrow I'll have it mocked up and snap a pic.
