Saw a used tach kit on ebay ....photos showed good condition and current bid was like $150,so I bid the next step up for kicks. I had no intention of paying more than $200 for it. I mean a new one is $325,risk free. Anyway,it being xmas time and all,my wife caught wind that I was interested in it and decided to continue bidding on it without me knowing. $266.00 after shipping....should be here in a few days.Bless her heart.

I really want one,but that's a lot for used one. Who am I kidding?I'm stoked!

Cool. You'll like it. They all should come with a tach and a center stand.

I want soooo badly a tach' too....

But I'll wait until I can replace my black box with an after-market black box that'll allow me to rev it past 7400 rpm. Besides, I feel pretty funny with Gold lines on my speedo where my shift points for each gear are.

........ and those shift points just come too soon, too easily.

$266, woth the risk. I have has very good luck online with e-bay and such.

I have looked at some of the aftermarket options and none will look as nice as the factory units IMHO. Just a matter of time before I bite the bullet, it just don't seem right to not have a tach does it???????

Good luck and let us know how it works out!

I hope you get it! It really is worth it, IMHO! The tach kit was the first thing I bought for my Bonneville even before my aftermarket pipes.

Easy to install too

Good Luck with Your Bid

Hey Pat, I've wondered for sometime why somebody with your experience would have gear change indicator marks on their speedo. Why do you have 'em? Are they set so that you change up just before you hit the limiter?

Nang,

Yeah..... I've got 'em at about 7200 rpm, and each of them come up rather quickly. Besides, I've been putting a couple taped pinstripes on my tach's the last couple bikes. Force of habit, superstition, or to bait the unknowing.... I usually look at the printout of a Dyno run, and determine the "Party Zone", you know... range of best torque & horsepower. Just some'n stupid I've been doing since the Sportster.

Just put tach kit on my Bonnie Black thanks to my two sons giving me a great birthday present, . . . a tach kit ! Pretty good seein' as I got the bike as a birthday present from my wife last September. What a family I've got. Had to promise not to fall off , though.

I considered buying a Triumph tach' and replacing my speedometer with it. Hell, I could put lines on THAT where 45 mph, and 70 mph is!

Or better still, go without the lines and simply add a digital speedo somehow.

It's the needle on a BIG tach' that I wanna see when I'm riding like a fool! :-D
