I have to admit to being a bit of a "prepper". I guess it comes from living in an area that gets a lot of hurricanes. I do carry tools and some spares when I ride locally (though I don't carry tire repair stuff on such trips). I have never needed them for my T100, but I've pieced together more than one Sportster that vibrated various parts off while riding with friends. I carry stuff like tape, tie wire, zip ties, and Loctite along with a very small toolkit. The whole thing fits in a small compression sack that tucks into a corner of my tankbag. I also bring a rainsuit and one of those backpack/grocery bag things in case I have to bring something home.

Oh, and I forgot one small, but very important item for the tire repair kit...you'll need a valve core tool, also.

As for the upcoming apocalypse...the only prep I did was to go to church.

I've haven't had cause to use my emergency tackle yet except for helping others broken down at the side of the road who DIDN'T have such things with them.
One guy needed first aid to a cut and grazes after a low speed drop....I happened to be passing at the time, and also happened to be carrying a first aid kit.

I have always just trusted that my tire wouldn't be in that bad of a shape. The tire boot sounds like a much better method...
