Good morning folks - I'd like to change my mag wheels slightly and wondered what the best medium is to change the colour on them is. Obviously spraying the wheels is going to be the cheapest. Anyone else done it and can you let me in on what seems to work best.

I've had good luck with grill paint, but color is limited. For a less permanent route, try spray on plasti dip.

What exactly are you looking to change?

Your best bet is to go to body shop supply place and purchase real paint, not that mickey mouse touch up crap you buy at an autoparts store.

These guys powder coat Bonnie wheels. I think they are about $135 a wheel if I'm not mistaken. Plus shipping of course. They don't have the mag wheels on their site, but I sent an email and asked. I could be off a little on the price, but I think it's pretty close. Seemed reasonable to me.

I used semi gloss black engine enamel from Dupicolor. Used a red scuff pad to scuff things up...

I vote strip off ALL the paint and polish them,along with the lower fork legs.. This winter of course..

I would go the rattle can route. It will also enable you to see what your colour choice looks like before spending a lot of money on a more durable finish. As long as the prep is half decent, you might be surprised how long the finish will last.

I vote rattle can for the above reasons, cheap to do and if done correctly can actually last a decent time. Also, if you don't like it it'll be pretty easy to strip off and try something else.
