We put alot of miles on our bikes each year but I was wondering how many "traveling men" there are on this forum.

At most, I have done a week and a half trip through the stretch of the Rocky Mountains sleeping in a tent with all my gear strapped to the bike. I just set-up camp and rode back to town for the beer. I've done two to three states stretches as well, but I have a hard time getting work off for vacation and most of my traveling has been solo.
Here's a funny picture of the camping gear. >>><<<

The last big trip I made was 3600 miles and eight states in 7 days. Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska.

How's this for "traveling men"? Every summer about 8-9 of us local bikeriders get together here in Joliet at a local roadhouse for breakfast-jump on the cycles and take off for St Louis for lunch-Louisville for drinks-Indy for supper-and back in Joliet for late night partying. No Interstate riding allowed-strictly back roads. We try to do trips like that every couple weeks or so. Joe

I was once a "traveling man" but there were too many ruffians. I actually prefer the company of bikers.

Man, you guys really get around. I enjoy going myself sometimes and also with 3 or four good friends. We really enjoy eachothers company.
Raproe, give your traveling friends another shot. Things change within the group over the years. Thanks guys for getting back to me.

Sorry Farky. At one of our social functions, one of my traveling friends got drunk, battered his girlfriend, and tried to bite her nose off. I brought charges to get him thrown out but the grand guys up state (in California) didn't have any problem with that kind of behavior. I was then sued for $3 Million in punitive and exemplary damages to make me an example for others that battery is OK with the travelers. I don't need to belong to a group like that. The ruffians indeed have taken over.
Bikers are much more civilized.

Who were your traveling friends that condoned this deal? Hells Angels? Hessians? Mongols? These are about the only ones I can think of who wouldn't think to badly of this incident. You did say this happened in Calif, right? Joe
