Well my front left shock squeaks like crazy on the road, from every little, bump, nook and cranny in the road. It is anoyyyyyyying!!! So on my 500 mile service I asked the dealer if they could fix it. They said no cause it would require a major overhaul on the forks to get in there and grease them up. They said it would cost $$$$$. Wouldn't that be a warranty issue or no?!?! If not, I was thinking about getting some lithium grease and shooting some up there and hope it will stop the squeak, provided I can shoot it up there easily and the grease doesn't screw anything up. What do you guys think??

I think your dealer is taking the p**s! Take it back and tell them to sort it. They sold you a new bike - it ought to be fit for its purpose. Clearly it isn't. If you don't get satisfaction then write a stiff letter to Triumph; maybe they can sort your dealer - it's their reputation on the line too.

I read some of the posts here and have a hard to believing what goes on at some of these dealerships. Never had any problem like this in my life. Maybe its time that some of you guys stopped listening to some of the lame ***** your hearing from these "dealers" and give it to them straight, like, "Hey Mofo I brought my bike in here for its service and I've also got a problem with the fork-it's got 500 miles on it-that means it's under warranty-what's your f--king problem? When do you want me to pick it back up? I don't remember reading about an acceptable squeak level in the forks in the owner's manual!!" If that don't work-call Triumph right in front of this dirtbag!! This isn't how the service dept at Triumph supposed to work!!!Joe

That's a puzzler. The first thing I'd do is to remove the top fork tube cap and look inside to see if the oil is level with the washer between the spacer and spring. If not, add oil. While you're at it (and with the top cap back on) have someone straddle the bike pushing on the handlebars to compress the front end. And get real close to the fork to make sure it's the fork leg that is squeaking. We're I a betting man, I'd say the brake caliper is the likely culpret. I bet is just loose and needs to be tightened. The other thing that could be wrong is a loose fender. They squeak when loose.

Of course, it could be that the fork tube is slightly bent, and if that is the case, it's not covered under warranty. You might want to explain to your dealer that they are reimbursed from the factory for warranty work, so they should loose the charity-work attitude. Also ask them if they have an internet connection in the shop. They do, they have to, to be able to use Triumph's on-line ordering program. Direct them to this thread and as they if being such tightwads is worth the bad PR.

I'm with dweeb. Check the fork oil level or have the shop do it. 5 minute job at most.

I just changed my fork springs out (12000 miles) and in the process drained and refreshed the fork oil. The forks had never been opened and never leaked but the right fork could not have had more than an ounce or two of oil in it. Must have come this way from the factory...

A lot of times these squeeky front fork noises are due to the shrouds rubber causing friction over the fork tubes. Try spraying some WD40 or Lithium Grease up in there and see if it stops the squeeking. Cans of this stuff come with little red tubes that should allow you to get between the shroud and the fork.

Aha, I didn't catch the fact you have an America. Yep, SalMaglie is spot-on as usual. The shroud could very well be the culprit. A liberal dose of WD40 will prove that out.

I had the same problem on my speedmaster. I had the fork seals replaced under warranty, problem solved.
