I have had an unnatural lust for the Gulf-Porsche Lemans cars and Steve McQueens #20 Car. Looking through the history of the gulf cars they are almost identical in color to the original 59 Bonneville. In some literature I have read they actually used those colors but I can't verify that.

So I only have one Triumph and those of you who know my bike know it was black and gold. So after a ton of work the fragile gold leaf actually ended up being like concrete to get off. I needed to repaint the seat cowl because of some nicks it took over the winter and decided to do a complete. Its far from done as I have the number plate side covers coming from BCustoms and the tail and side cover numbers are being printed and won't be ready until Wednesday. It needs to be polished, the pinstriping laid and the Gulf decals put on the front fender, tank and tail.

Update, tank is done.







I used black pinstriping instead of the usual Royal Blue. I did that because my engine is black and it seems to pull it together.
