In my endless quest for increase milage, does anyone have any experience with the Nology Hotwire ignition wire set - Especially with respect to increase milage and HP (as advertised) for a late model Speedmaster? New Speedmaster has them for about $80. Kind of pricy. Also how does this wire set match with iridium plugs?

Even brent himself said the main reason to buy them is they are better than the stock wires yet cheaper, but that he didn't notice any performance increase. If i recall tho he did say it idled better. He also has ignition coils now too, i believe also by nology tho i may be wrong. Haven't heard any feedback on those yet but you might try asking him because i know he tries a lot of what he sells.

I'm running the Nology Hotwires and coil(s) on the Speedmaster and Bonneville. I didn't noticed much of an increase in power with just the wires (although others have reported differently). Dale's right, the idle improved quite a bit, though. That changed when combined with the coil(s). Together, a very noticeable increase in both power and low end torque. I have no idea what it did to mileage one way or the other. I think there has been some discussion over on the BA site....

I thought I would post some links from my recent research - both good and bad. THe Nology site Q&A sounds a bit too good to be true http://www.nology.com/hotquest.html#Q2 but it covers the basics.

On the other hand, here is a link to an unsatisfied customer. http://iwcweb.com/eclipse/html/warning.html Although his experience is with his car it may be relevant.

Anyway, I'd like to hear of more personal experiences.

Interesting ! So the coils really made a difference eh? How would you describe the difference as compared to something like removing the snorkel on bikes where that has been successful? (assuming you have)

I know it's asking a lot to describe it but it's something i may consider but would be sorely disappointed if the difference was barely noticable. Also, i would assume any improvment from the coils would likely be seen even when using the stock plug wires. i really can't see that they'd hold the coils back. By the way, has anyone who's bought the coils posted thier findings anywhere that you know of? I saw some stuff at BA but no reviews on them by anyone who's bought them.

Come on Brent.......make me give you more money ! :-D

Sometimes it's hard not to read that stuff and believe it cuz you really WANNA believe it so badly. But i don't. Never take anything the manufacturer say seriously ! At times it may be true, but the fact is they are going to build thier products up or not say anything at all. After all, the only thing left it to put thier own products down which i think we can agree aint gonna happen ! So if they're gonna put up a FAQS with questions regarding thier products performance they're gonna give them a big thumbs up true or not. Nothing new here that i really needed to tell you, but it's always good to be reminded occasionally because we all so want to believe that stuff !

It's hard to compare to a single other mod because we've done so much to our Speedmaster. My personal experience was that the snorkel didn't do a whole bunch. Removing the airbox was a huge kick in the pants. The Nology coil/wires would fall somewhere in between.

We had the coils made to accept the OE ignition wire connections. So they'll work with the stock wires.

The more people run these, the more we'll be seeing on the boards. But the initial response has been very positive. More to come.

I have the wires on my Bonneville, only thing that I noticed is the idle was higher by 200rpm. I did play with the jetting and increased the main one size, a 1/4 turn.

The seat dyno is broke for the winter! Sorry the Beemer is my winter bike..

For testing purposes & consumer feedback additional feedback to NB.com is required. To support this project I believe we need a package discount deal on all these parts... Iridium plugs, Nology Hotwires & Coils. :-D :-D
