Mr. Weinert,
Recently I heard a rumor that Triumph was going to allow OCC to build a chopper using a Bonnieville. I have a part time shop that caters strictly to Triumphs. I use other shops but they also cater to Triumph only. Wouldn't it be prudent to use these businesses since they are the ones showing loyalty to the Triumph Marque. The father and son team have H****D*** and the HD Clones, Let one of your loyal customers/dealers/or customs shop build a bike for you........Look on the BonnievilleAmerica.com and TriumphRat.Net for some of the best looking bikes around. If you want to go the full custom route I am building a show bike with new frame, fenders, foot controls and wheels to show and promote my business. If you provide a 790 motor I will bear the expense of everything else.
Thank You,
Fred S Levy
Guys, I'm not doing this to blow my own horn. There are some really good builders out there that would ride nothing but Triumphs. Let them have a chance to show what they have and let Old Walrus and Sons do what they do best. Bend a tank and bolt on everything else. So send an e-mail to Triumph and tell'em how really feel before this Unholy Union takes place.

I think it's more about Triumph and advertising, OCC is a very high profile company, and you have to admit a lot more people will see a OCC Triumph than one built by a less known shop.

I agree with BDA55, I think it's more about advertising. There are a hell of a lot of people who will be watching, and start thinking that having something other then the normal V twin would be kinda cool. That said, I also see your point Angelis, and I'm sure your bike would be at least as good as the OCC boy's.

Watch OCC take a $8k Bonnie, rip it apart and make something really wierd so they can sell it for $30k! Now that's OCCs cup of tea. Paul Jr. will try to make it look like Big Ben while Paul Sr. and Mikey sip tea and munch crumpets!

Whether what OCC does is good or not, many people like what they do. If not they wouldn't be able to make a living at it ! Don't count me in, i'm not defending thier designs, and i don't like choppers tho i did somewhat as a kid. But they are paid big money for what they do some some people like thier work.

But i'm not bothered by what they do OR the fact that they'll be doing it to a bonnie. In fact i see the bight side of it in that i believe it's good to see that the first time they seem to have ever deviated from the HD V twin type engines that they picked a triumph. Seems like they're paying homage to triumph if anything. they probably have more respect for triumph than any other bike besides thier beloved V twins. So i view it as something positive. I bet if they had picked a beemer instead some here would be screaming "a beemer?!!! What about triumph?!!" :roflmoa2: :hihi:

Like i said in the other occ thread.... who said that they are going to chop or customize this bonnies?!?!?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all i saw was someone here said that OCC bought a T100. So what? Paul Senior wanted one because he used to ride one back in the day. I didn't see any mention of them taking it chopping it up and creating something offensive.

Some of you guys need to take a deep breath and go out for a ride. :hammer:
