Just an opinion piece...

I installed my 19th front sproket last weekend and had a chance to get out and ride. I don't like it...for now.

I have the NARK with Predators.

Don't get me wrong...the bike sceams at midrange, and I've gained about 8 miles per hour at 4K RPMs. But the spongy starts aren't ideal for the stop-and-go traffic/short distances I ride here on Oahu.

I'm thinking about going to a 18 tooth for now, and if ever I get to use the bike for more wide-open riding, I can always go back.

I have the NARK w/ D&D pipes and am looking at my 19 trying to decide -maybe I will wait until spring? We have lots of hills and mountains and etc...... maybe I will stick it on just to see if I like it?

I put my 17T back on, like you it also felt spongy to me down low. I had the 19T on for 1000 miles but I like the 17T better. Crazy thing is I think the clutch was slipping some times with the 19T..

Personally, I think 18 teeth is the sweet spot on the 790 motors. But there are PLENTY of guys out there running 19's that swear by them. The good thing is that this is a cheap mod and easy to swap out.

I installed the 19 tooth on my T100 and I think it's great. Came stock with the 18 tooth. No airbox mods or silencers, completely stock except for the sprocket and it works really well. I ride two up about 90 per cent of the time and have no problems at all. It lowered the rpms about 200 at 65 and is perfect for me. If I ever do the airbox and silercer mods I may not think it's so great but for now I'm satisfied.

I use an 18T on my '03 T100 with only light performance tweaks. It had only minimal impact on the takeoff, but made 70 mph (actual) much more comfortable.

I have the 19T on my '05 T100 and like it quite a bit. Makes the bike sail effortlessly on the open road. A little lost off-the-line but not a problem. Wouldn't be too quick to go to 19T if I had a lot of steep hills and intersections though.

I had an 18 before I NARKed and took it off after because it seemed that it was flat right at 100ks (62mph) in top it was more comfortable in 4th at 100. But since dyno I don't have a flat spot I will put 18 back on. I would also like to try a 16, because I love all this torque down low.

If it would go 140 mph that's how fast I would go. If you get caught doing that here you might get away with crucifixion (first offense)
