1)- is it legal in so cal to use clear lenses?
2)- would they be resonably east to see?
3)-does anyone make them for the signals on the cruisers?

i think so but never been stopped i am running clear signals
my aftermarket signals are brighter than stock and smaller
J&P cycles has a bunch of cruiser stuff that will work for many different applications, and most cycle shops carry or can order lockhard & phillips (that is what i use) they make a ton of different styles
here is a photo of the signals

Hi Dazco
I struggled with the same question last year. Here is the answer I got from Bill H:
"This doesn't exactly address your question, but it may provide a lead. I too looked for these clear lenses. I had the unusual combo of Lucas repro stalks on my Bonnie, and red LEDs in these back indicators. Two companies sell lenses that worked for me:
http://www.customdynamics.com/ and http://www.clearalternatives.com/
I bought the CTS-0011 from custom dynamics cuz they also had some mini-chrome tie wraps that I liked. The lens I bought fits older HDs but also fits the Lucas stalks (ALMOST) perfectly. I had to customize the SS steel screw-heads/length and it's a little big, but it looks fine and permits the LEDs max pass-through light.. This may help you, may not...Bill H"
I hope this helps you. :-D

Thanks. I think what i need to ask more specifically tho is whether anyone knows of a clear one that'll definatly fit the stock speedy and america signals. I need to hear that coming from someone who's done it to really know that what arrives on my doorstep won't turn out to be wrong for them. There was a flat clear lense on that site 2marks linked for harleys that looked like it could work, but no way to know. Plus, while i'd really like a flat lense, i haven't taken my lenses off so i don't know if the bulb protrudes too far for a flat lense to work. My guess is it does tho.

Daz, I don't run with turn signals at all and I'm eventually moving to Long Beach.....the Law in CO says hand signals okay, what's the law say there???
With real heavy traffic, my conscience tells me to buy some signals for LA.

Yup, you'll need em to be legal.By the way, a google search yielded the following Ca requirement results: The lenses CAN be clear, but only if the bulbs are colored. So if i do this i'll have to get yellow or red bulbs.

As far as I know, there are no clear lense alternatives for the stock blinkers on the America/Speedmaster.

You may be correct sir. But i wonder about these because they look like the same thing and i gotta think there might just be a somewhat standardized size for signals that loo similar and are in the same area size-wise. Or maybe that they're Japanese in which case theres a good chance they are. HD's and Triumphs both use Jap parts for a lot of things like this. That page shows both cupped and flat, so if the flat won't work due to the bulb protruding you can always go with the cupped. They're $10 each but they come with the amber bulbs. Think i'll look into those.....maybe email them and see what they can tell me.

I know......thats what i was saying above. "Either the lense or the bulb must be colored" but both cannot be white.
