i have the stock pipes now and am looking for a more ballsy sound, can i get that if i drill out the stockers. how exactly do i do this? is i worth cutting up the pipes or is it better to go ahead and buy aftermarket pipes. i dont really like the look of the megaphones but want a good throaty tough sounding bike

Trav- First, welcome. I'm sure the 125 guys can give you some input. But, here's a couple of thoughts, one general the other personal. The "pipes" topic is one that is covered and re-covered on a regular basis. You may want to spend some time reading back in history on this site to get some opinions and ideas. Not only in the Classics book, but in the General/Maintainance section.
IMHO, I would give yourself and the bike some time to get acquainted before you jump in to a new set of pipes or modification of your existing set.
One man's thoughts; worth exactly what you're paying for them.

My 2 cents:

Go with a used pair of TOR's (Triumph Off-Road pipes). You can usually get them for around $250

When I first got my Predators a few weeks ago, I thought I had blown out an eardrum in my right ear with the racket from the pipes. So I went to my doctor.

Turns out my ear is fine. Apparently I had a mild inner ear infection maybe as a reaction to a flu shot I had gotten. My ears are back to normal now.

I do wear ear plugs now though. Mainly for wind noise but also with the plastic helmets, the low tone from the Predators reverberates inside the helmet shell.

I think I would have gotten NH Togas as my first choice but the shop I used was unfamiliar with them. I just like that shorty tear drop design.
