With my bike jetted a fair bit richer as in TBS needles shimmed to shorten them as much as the stock needles with one shim on them and 130 mains, it runs strong. Uni filter drilled airbox and no snorkel.

I've never touched the pilots tho because i've read several times that the pilots rarely need to be changed. It doesn't seem like the lowest throttle positions are suffering but i can't help but wonder if they could be improved. Any educated opinions about this?

If you're not experiencing any hiccups/stumbling/poor performance I'd leave them alone.
That said I just added D&D pipes to my bike and it's running very well, mileage is even up. On monday I'll be pulling plugs and looking at rejetting the mains, if needed. I don't foresee changing the pilot jets, though I bought a set just in case.
PS the D&D pipes are seriously LOUD!

Not that I'm reconsidering...but have you ever heard EPCO pipes? How do they compare on the loudness scale? :brk:

Daz,
Here's a simple test. Ride the bike in first gear at 2k rpms for about 2 minutes, hold it steady at 2k and if it jerks/stutters, up the pilots a step. If it stays nice and smooth, leave it be. Even with all my mods, I have not needed to swap the pilots out, I tried once for Sheis & Grins and it ran poorly in the idle to 1/8 position.
