Last weekend I went to the 'Sydney Motorcycle Show' (held at the Olympic Park), walked in and out within an hour! The girl at the carpark ticket-counter who processed my voucher questioned me as to why I was leaving so soon?

I knew full well that Triumph wouldn't be there but thought I'd go and see what all the rest of the brands had on offer. Apart from the new Buell Ulysses XB12 (which I think is very innovative in it's design), absolutely no other bike did anything for me.

Of course all the Jap bikes were proudly being displayed, full of plastic and moulded components but nothing IMO compared with the sheer beauty, simplicity, clean asthetics that our Triumph bikes radiate.

If the full range of Triumph bikes had been on display, I'm sure that there would have been crowds of people eager to get near, let alone put firm orders down for anyone of them. (Triumph, are you listening?)

My disappointment was soon forgotten upon returning home to my garage, uncovered my Black Thruxton (said G'day - I'm back) and threw my leg over. In a selfish way, I was happy in the knowledge that our bikes are our little secret.

Too Bad... So Sad for all those who have yet to be enlightened, enriched and empowered with Class & Style.

I agree about our bikes. I'm proud to be riding British iron. I mean, How would it be saying "I ride A black Harley." Then 20 others stand up and say "No I ride a black Harley." :upthumb: P.S. Sorry you waisted the money on the show. Could of been better spent on a pint o' ale!!!! :chug:

I agree. I'll probably hit the Long Beach show just to look around, there's a great Fajita place nearby for dinner. Last year I got a pair of Held Profis for a great price so I'll have my eyes open for deals on gear. Hope Guzzi has their new ST there, that'd be cool. I do the same thing at boat shows. Spend all day there and then stop off on the way home at my boat and am always happy with what I have. Same with the Bonnie. All I need or want....and she's just so darn purty! :-D

Why wasn't Triumph there? Is this a minor show for Australia or is there some other show over there that Triumph will be at?

Sounds like our Australian Triumph colleagues are being short changed. It's to bad. Some of the best and most loyal members of this forum are from down under.

Sadly, Triumph is said to have disappeared from this season's show circuit. According to the official website this is to concentrate on other aspects of advertising. Just when Triumph is a larger blip on the radar screen-it has decided to fly stealth. Go figure!! Joe
