anybody ever use a race stand instead of a motorcycle jack.
i have been looking at jardine and hindle race stands for the rear wheel to help with cleaning and lubing.
i dont have anywhere to store a full motorcycle jack.
and frankly L149.99 for a centre stand is a bit steep for using once and a while anyone ever use a race stand. seems to me it might be a hard to get a bonnie up given the weight difference to a race sport bike.

I considered a one to use in conjunction with a jack but learned that a jack is more useful for all types of work than a stand.

A stand can't help with any front wheel work at all. I opted for the jack and I really like the one I got. If you get an aluminum one, you can hang it on the wall, like this, if you're worried about space.

It costs more but I like it way better than the Steel one I bought and returned. The Craftsman's is on sale for $139 USD. Of course my motto is spend the extra money and get what you like. You're only going to by one motorcycle jack in your lifetime..hopefully.

I use a Cir-Cui paddock stand. Cheap, about $70. Pitbull & Handy are excellent too.

convict,
Before you buy check that it will work on your bike. With stock (shaped) silencers there is no room to hook onto swingarm without hitting silencers. MC/ATV lifter is the go. Allows removal of both wheels, at the same time if required.

G'day,

There was a link a couple of months ago to a bike jack for under $20. I can't remember the link but I did remember how it was made, so I made one. It works well and only cost me $17.59, including tax.

The sad thing is that I will have to use it for a couple of months while the bike is resting over winter. I miss Australia.

If anyone is interested I can try and track down the link, or put some photos up.

Ian
