Has anyone shortened the rear turn signal stalks? It seems to me that half the stock length would give a tidier appearancve to the rear end of a Speedmaster.

No, but that sounds like a good idea and free to boot ! But i wonder if there are some minimum length laws in some places? Copper, you there? Any idea?

A number of folks on the BonnevilleAmerica.com have shortened their rear stalks. There are several ways it can be done. There was a recent thread a week or so back on this subject with pictures.

I don`t believe there is a minimum width, since the new sport bikes come with brake and blinkers integrated into a single LED tailight.

I did a nice job taking 2" off the rear signal mounting rods today. It took about an hour. I cut off the threaded end that goes into the plate mount. I cut 2"off the rod. Then I drilled the cut end of the rod 11/32". I tapped it a half inch deep with a 10mm tap. I screwed the recycled threaded end in the shortened rod. Then I reassembled the rear turn signal assembly. It looks great.

I like the narrow rear end now that matches the narrow front end.
