What would you carry as a basic tool kit on a ride and where would you put it on the T100? :assim:

Sorry I posted a thread here but it doesn't relate to your question. It's gone now.

There is really no place unless you make one. I used a fork bag and instead of tying it to the forks where it adds weight the the forks, is more obvious, possibly obstructs airflow to the oil cooler, and marrs the forks, i stuck it on the frame downtubes. Looks good there if you do happen to see it, but more imprortantly you DON'T usually see it.

I sure wish somebody who knows the answer to this question would chime in!
Before I lost my saddlebag off the bike down some ravine (at 50 mph), I tried to put a little thought into this question and assembled some stuff........ I wonder what that stuff was..... now lost(???)
I think I set out to try my allens on as many fittings of the bike as I could see.
I threw a very decent screw-driver in there with a couple heads.
A crescent wrench.
A universal Leatherman type tool/knife.
Some zip ties.
Loctite.
Duct tape wrapped around a pencil.
Electric air compressor (I have a fitting hooked to my battery for the Battery Tender & compressor).
A bottle of "Slime".
- AND -
Cable & lock.
Shop towel & moist wipes.
Small First Aid kit & Gold Bond medicated wipes.
Bottle of water.
Warmer gloves or water-proof (depending on time of year)
Underjacket/windbreaker & neck wrap.
Yeppers, lost it all....... AND some!

Hey Lobo - on a Bonnie, and I presume T100, there is room under the seat for a small 'getchahome' emergency roll: a few selected allen keys; 8" crescent (or one big enough to get on the axle nuts); stubby screwdriver; some cable ties; piece of wire; some flat thin openenders (combine. e.g. 8, 10, 12, 13 or 14, and or 17 maybe); small pair of pliers of some sort; small roll duct-tape. That sort of thing...used to carry silastic on old Triumphs and Sporties, and a tin of assorted nuts and bolts - not necessary on these new ones. I have a few odd tools like a small cresecent in my leather pockets and a pocket kife too. No kit's gonna cover all eventualities though - best have the bike in well-fettled riding nick to start with.
Pat - that's a great list - of course you need a saddlebag for that good a kit
cheers mate - drP
