I have come to the realization that Triumph owners are like a bunch of kids with new toys. I have ridden all makes and have only experienced this passion for a bike when riding Triumph. BUT then I was always told that it’s a special type of person that rides Triumph. Well now I know this to be a fact reading different post here.
What a family to belong too, you could not asked for better.

That's because there is more to riding Triumphs that just the urge to ride a motorcycle; its also a lifestyle choice. There are plenty of plastic rockets out there at cheaper prices if all we wanted was to be on two wheels. And no, I'm not knocking other bikes - everyone has a right to appreciate and ride whatever they like. :chug:

I was speaking to a dealer that had traded in a Triumph on a Jap bike some years ago. I asked him is he not worried that the Triumph may not move. He said yes it can stand here for months but when that special person comes in the door it’s sold. Well I bought it there and then, my first Bonnie. Had plenty of Jap bike since but just never seem to find what I was looking for until now. All those wasted years …. Sigh 8-)

Welcome to the wonderful world of Triumph mate! Better late than never. You've made a good choice, one I hope you'll always be happy with. Sure there'll be niggles from time to time, but that's life! Enjoy your riding.

Windrider, I couldn't agree more with your comments. I could never afford a Bonnie as a young rider in the 1960's, and since then I've owned many different machines, mostly Japanese, but only found what I have been looking for when I bought my new Bonnie a few months ago, although not knocking Japanese bikes at all. Can't explain it, but that's how it is, I love the Bonnie, ( but not the weather we've got in the UK at present, very cold and snow imminent, I believe.

Yea well I was lucky as I bought my first Bonnie when I was around 23. Road it for years I cannot even remembers now why I sold it but I have never forgotten it through all the other Jap bikes. I would from time to time still talk about how much I preferred certain aspects of it to my then current Jap bike of the time.

Same here Alan. Always wanted a Bonnie or a Dommie, but couldn't afford either. Now finally that I'm older and thankfully before it got too late I can at last ride one. I've had mine for nearly a year now. Dreams do come true!
Has the snow reached you up there in Leyland yet?

AlanFJ, couldn't agree with you more!! Couldn't afford in the 60's either but had to want too's. I've enjoyed every bike & scooter ever owned & would never badmouth any Japanese bike I've had----But nothing pleases me like riding my Black Bonnie!!! Its kinda like my love affair with my wife--I wish I'd gotten together with her sooner but I wasn't smart enough when I was younger to have appreciated her like I do now!!! Quality is where its at for me at this stage of my life! Yeah!!!
