Has any one used the 904cc big bore kit from Wiseco?
Does any else offer a big bore kit?
There is no replacement for displacement.

There are quite a few big bore bonnies around. Dinqua has documented his install pretty well--his is a Speedy, I believe. I have read a lot of favorable comments by those with the BB, and can't remember any comments unfavorable by those who have them. I don't have any plans for the BB myself--I probably have more hp now than I should at my age. :-D

I doubt that adding 5% a mere 40cc will make that much difference..... Think you would get more use out of a centre stand
on my bmw i could go from 800cc to 1000 with a big bore kit,, they claim 25% increase in power,, well so it should its 25% bigger ( but they ned higher compresion to get this as it is the breathing that limits power,)

I wouldn't think the 904 cc big bore kit wouldn't be much of an improvement over the 865cc.. but it would be a noticeable difference from the 790 cc version...

But don't forget the compression ration of the BB is a point higher. Something like 10.1 vs 9.1 or thereabouts. Plus as i read at BA the pistons are forged instead of cast which apparently is stronger, which isn't in itself a performance gain but a more reliable part. So all in all i think it's a worthy kit, especially if you are going to do other mods.

Actually raises compression from 9:2 to 10:5 with the Wiseco kit. The South Bay kit raises compression to 11:2 (but costs $1295 vs $500 for Wiseco plus $160 for machining the cylinders). I bought the Wiseco kit from Bellacorse when they had the sale for $400 and will install it once the weather gets too cold to ride. So far seems everything I've heard about the Wiseco kit was very positive. can't wait to see it for myself.

Thanks for all the info. I am most likely going to use the Wiseco kit.

Pat (Dinqua) has started another Wiseco build. Details on the BonnevilleAmerica.com forum. He also seems to have found a good resource at a decent price for the machine work, contact info in his write-up.
I rode with a guy in VA with the Wiseco (and CR carbs), that thing ran like stink. He didn't even have the nitrous hooked up yet.

Installed the Wiseco 904 big bore on my America, I know that my math isnt that good but 790 to 904 is more than 40cc, anyhow, being a bit of a motorhead I also understand the significance of increasing the compresion to 10.5 : 1. (besides I got some cool stickers too), I also rejetted the carbs, removed the AI ***** and put on after market pipes.... Its a great everyday rider and can keep up with just about any Harley Ive run into and out handle the rest. I cant keep from smiling as I go down the road. :-D
