I live in McKinney and would love to get together and go riding with some fellow Triumph riders. PM me or just post interest in this thread and i'll pm you.

On a side note, BMW Motorcycles of Plano, TX is wanting to organize some rides and form a RAT club. I figure if we DFW riders (n. dallas folks in particular) call up Mark and voice an interest he will get things going faster.

Just saw your post about BMW of North Dallas maybe organizing a RAT Pack. When I bought my '05 T100 this past March MikeTheSalesGuy said the same thing then. Any progress on this that you know of?

Mark (another salesman) told me that he was asked to start one up by his manager. I just don't understand why a dealership that sales Triumphs would NOT make this part of one of their staffs job responsibilities. I would go so far as making a salesman spend 1 hour each day organizing and planning events. To me it is a no-brainer way to drum up more business and I cannot believe they haven’t started one yet.

Every time I step in the dealership I end up buying something and I am sure I am not in the minority. So, if you organize a monthly gathering, serve coffee/donuts and organize a ride you will likely (even a short 1 ½ hour ride): 1) get those people who rarely ride enthused about riding again (more money is sure to follow)
2) Get non-Triumph riders interested in joining a tight-knit community. You know feed the need to fully belong (might take time but it happens all the time in HD land)
3) get people in the shop to showcase accessories (without even trying!)

I wouldn’t want them to turn the meeting/ride into a sales pitch but the additional sales will happen naturally as people talk motorcycles and gear. Joe just purchases a new XYZ and people are naturally going to ask Joe how XYZ works and if its any good. Without trying they could increase sales for 1) $20.00 in donuts, a couple bucks worth of coffee, and the gas fill-up for the employee tasked with leading the ride. Hmmmmm…just don’t get their logic for not sponsoring a Rat pack.

If this doesn't work out for you guys in the northern section of the DFW area, you might want to consider DFW Rats sponsored by Euro Sport Cycle in FW. Check their site at eurosportcycle.com .
As for some nice riding in our area, check out FM 455 from Anna all the way to Montague. Ride Texas magazine rates it in the top 10 for the state.

Just my .02$..... but I have never had a good experience at that dealer.

RPM, on the other hand, loves triumphs and are great bunch of guys that know thier stuff. They are easy to talk to and will provide you with a lot of advice. It's worth the extra 15 minutes just to look at all of the classics they have on the floor.

I do believe they have a RAT club at RPM and they have a great Open House every year.

North Texas on the other hand, seems to treat the triumph guys like they are second class to the BMW guys.

Like I said, just my two cents....take it for what it is.

No disagreement here concerning RPM Cycle...that's where I take my Bonnie for maintenance and they seem to be relatively less expensive than others for services provided.
I enjoy seeing the old Triumphs and Nortons (including some of their custom work) sitting on the showroom floor (drip pans and all). Nice bunch of guys.
