And got some really good pics. Unfortunatly i cannot upload them till i'm at work tomorrow. (dial up at home) Plus last time i tried to create an album i couln't make it happen for some reason. But i'll try tomorrow and summon help if i can't make it happen.
Lots of bikes ! Tons of vintage triumphs, Nortons, and BSA's along with some other strange stuff. Couple Vincents too.Of course a huge number of pre-Hinkley twins. Some of them were awesome. Met Philip there (2nd time i met him) and we talked for a while bout our machines. Everyone who got there ealy enough was greeted at the gate with a free brit ride T-shirt.
Anyway, i'll try and upload them tomorrow if possible or at lest some time this week. I think the pics came out great.

I didn't see that. Musta been after i was there? What time ya go? I was there from i think 9-9:30 till about 10:30 i think. i didn't do the ride tho. Did you see that green norton that said 880 sprint special on it? Nicest norton i've ever seen. Musta been a 750 bored out because why would they bore an 850 to 880. Beautiful tho. Got a pic.
Funny thing is, with all the rare bikes there, my speedmaster was among the few that was the only one of it's kind there ! Imagine a new bike thats as rare on the streets as most old brit bikes ! I LOVE that ! :-D

Hansen Dam takes me back, Daz; I grew up in Burbank and would go hiking there every so often...gettin' in/stayin' out of trouble!

Me too. Used to fish there when the dam was full back in the 70's. Never did hear why they drained it, but it was nice having a fishin hole just 10 min from home.

By the way, one thing i noticed is that a lot of these old triumps had no air filter. Just those air horns or whatever they're called.....straight into the carbs with nothing to block anything from getting in. i wonder if these guys spend a lot of time pulling thier carbs apart to remove bugs?!

The ride went through the canyons where I ride frequently, so I waited till most of the crowd pulled out and had a lot of open road most of the way. Rode behind a couple of old Tigers up Angeles Forest to the cafe where I stopped and shot the breeze for a while, talked to TJ, the service manager at Southern California Triumph.
I added an extra 30 or so miles, heading up to Angeles Crest, then up the hill to Upper Big Tujunga Canyon, which is a great 9 mile stretch where you can open her up a bit.
There were a few spots where it got a little crowded on the road, and I saw two groups of fire trucks/ambulances/law enforcement, but I don't know if any of our group was involved. It is not unusual to see a bike wreck up there - hope everyone is OK.
There were about 300 or 400 bikes at the gathering, some awesome machinery.
I'll be there next year.

Hey dazco.. how did you hear about the Hansen Dam thing? I love that ride up 9 mile to Big Tujunga and the bike show up at Angeles Crest at Newcomb's Ranch. Haven't taken the ride with the new Speedy, but was there just last week in a pack of BMW's and Harleys..I kept up with my old Yamaha nicely though....
